Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.

Welcome! I am Changyang He (何畅扬), a postdoc researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Security and Privacy (MPI-SP). I am fortunate to work in the Responsible Computing Group led by Prof. Asia Biega supported by the FINDHR project on fairness and non-discrimination in algorithmic hiring.

My primary research areas are Computer-supported Cooperative Work (CSCW), Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and algorithmic fairness. I employ a human-centered and intersectional approach to study how to develop algorithmic and social systems to enhance digital inclusion, connectivity and wellbeing for underrepresented populations.

I completed my PhD in Computer Science and Engineering Department, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) supervised by Prof. Bo Li in March 2024. Before my PhD study, I received my bachelor’s degree (with honors) from School of Computer Science at Fudan University in 2020, supervised by Prof. Tun Lu and Prof. Yangfan Zhou. I have also had some wonderful journeys in visiting EPFL supervised by Prof. Pearl Pu, University of California, Irvine supervised by Prof. Kai Zheng and Prof. Yunan Chen, and Dartmouth College supervised by Prof. Xing-Dong Yang. My CV is available here.
